Literature Text

Spill your guts out
Onto a blank canvas
Or a scrap of line paper
Or even your wrist

Get everything out
Tear away the layers
Peel it all away
Leave yourself raw

Dig deep into your heart
Or into your soul
Or even the black void
That dominates your chest

Dabble in some cheap poetry
You wont be very good
But you keep trying it
Before trying a different style

Sketch it out
Scrap it and miss the garbage can
For the fifteenth time
And stop caring

Find the deeper meanings
And pretend it sounds good
Act proud of something
And die just a little from the effort

Get advice that doesn't work
Pretend that everything's okay
When you know it's not
When it never will be

Get yourself angry enough
Get yourself upset enough
Get yourself frustrated enough

And spill your guts out
Oops. I got inspired by accident.

This is usually the process I go through when I write.

First thing first; I loved this poem when I first read it. That's why I added it to my favourites, so I could come back and read it later. I really have been wanting to write, but haven't found the right motivations or I don't feel like I can thread the words together well. However, your poem has inspired me to just let loose and go for it, so thank you very much! I really, really like this. :)

Second, I have a question. I've been writing just little bits and pieces, but I tried to italicize something earlier and found that I couldn't. I couldn't bold, italicize, anything in that manner. Annnd I'm confused. So please, if you have the time, teach me to do this! I would be so grateful! Thanks a bunch in advance, and seriously, awesome poem. ^.^ Have a good one!
